HOW WE WORK

We start with the problem.
Not the software.

You probably already know where the pain is.

A process takes too long.
People are copying information between systems.
A spreadsheet has become infrastructure.
Existing software does 80% of what you need and makes the other 20% miserable.

We start there.

You do not need a technical specification, architecture diagram or list of features.

Show us how the business actually works.

First, we figure out if software is even the answer.

Not every problem needs a custom application.

Sometimes an existing product will do the job.

Sometimes a small integration or automation is enough.

Sometimes the process itself needs fixing before anyone writes code.

We would rather tell you that early than spend six months building something you never needed.

Then we make the problem smaller.

Big software projects usually become expensive because nobody decides what not to build. We separate:

Ideas that sound good but haven’t earned their complexity yet.

We would rather ship something focused and useful than build an enormous version 1 nobody understands.

We build in short loops.

We don’t disappear for six months and return with “the software.”

We build a piece. Use it. Break it. Change it. Then build the next piece.

Real workflows expose things that requirements documents don’t.

The sooner that happens, the better.

AI is part of our development process.

We use AI heavily for research, prototyping, implementation, testing, documentation and code review.

That gives a small company leverage that previously required a much larger development team.

But there is a catch.

AI can produce bad software very quickly. Generated code is not automatically good code.

+Architecture still matters.
+Security still matters.
+Testing still matters.
+Database design still matters.
+Production discipline still matters.

So AI accelerates the work.

It doesn’t get the final say.

We review what we build.

Important work gets checked from more than one angle. Depending on the project, that can include:

automated tests;
code and architecture review;
security review;
database and migration checks;
separate development and production environments;
independent AI or engineering review;
real-world workflow testing.

We’re not interested in software that merely looks finished.

It has to survive actual use.

You stay involved.

You know your business better than we do. We know how to turn what you know into software.

That requires conversations. Not endless meetings. Not project-management theatre.

Just enough communication to make good decisions before expensive mistakes get built.

If something doesn’t make sense, we ask. If we think an idea is a bad one, we’ll say so.

We don’t sell developers by the hour.

We’re not trying to become your temporary engineering department.

We prefer clearly defined problems where we can take responsibility for getting from:

“This is driving us crazy.”

TO

“This actually works.”

That may be a complete SaaS product. It may be an internal business system. It may be an automation. It may turn out to be much smaller than anyone originally expected.

What working with us usually looks like

Walk us through what happens today. The ugly version, not the presentation version.
02 We map the workflow
We identify the people, information, decisions, exceptions and systems involved.
03 We decide what matters
We define the smallest useful version and deliberately leave things out.
04 We build
Development happens iteratively, with AI providing significant leverage.
05 We review and test
We try to break what we built before your customers or employees do.
06 We put it into the real world
Then we learn what reality thinks of our assumptions.
07 We improve it
Software is rarely finished. But it should reach a point where it is useful before it becomes enormous.

Build something just because you asked for it.

If we think there is a better answer, we’ll tell you.

Pretend AI makes engineering irrelevant.

It doesn’t.

Turn a simple problem into a giant software project.

Complexity is expensive forever.
